RAAF 7TH INTAKE 1953
TOTTENHAM/FROGNALL
REUNION NO.15 Nuriootpa
20th - 23rd May 2010
The following apology has been received from Ron and Heather Hearn regarding their inability to attend this reunion ...
You may also like to make a note on the website of our apology and good wishes to all, as we are unable to attend the reunion in the Barossa Valley. Heather and I are departing early June to the UK, Scandinavia and the Baltic Time would not permit us to make the South Australian trip and be organised in time. We both hope you all have a great reunion, we will miss being there. Look forward to next year. Kind Regards.. Ron and Heather.
.....
What a great weekend was had by those that attended this our 15th reunion. It all began at Lindsay and Helen's place on Thursday 20th for a BBQ. An excellent repast was provided and heartily partaken of. Friday was a free morning for those not engaging in the golf round. After lunch a trip to Maggie Beer's Farm Shop was arranged and a surprise visitor was Don and Dorothy McLennan. Great to see them arrive in Nuriootpa after a gruelling drive from home. A demonstration of cooking in the Beer's kitchen with the added bonus of learning the valued use of Verjuise in cooking to bring out those falvours. In the evening we dined at the Angas Park Hotel.
Saturday was free morning where some of went to the Farmers market for breakfast. A different experience for most of us. Afterwards we took in Gully Gardens fruit and on to Wohlers for a well earned cuppa.
At 1.30pm we gathered in the conference room for our usual meeting to finalise arrangement for the rest of the weekend and make a decision where to rendezvous for our reunion in 2011. Previous discussion by some of the group had suggest Ballarat as the site for 2011, this was agreed to by those attending.
A successful Reunion Dinner was held in the evening where presentations were made to those golfer who had achieved great things and to those that did no. With thanks to Norm McGeary for preparing the trophys. Group photos were taken of both the Ladies and Men.
Sunday was a Mystery Tour. We were taken to lookout points and particularly to Friedensberg Church come School House and given a very good talk on the background of the German descendants who lived in the Family Tree and attended the school.
