Reunion No.7 - Belmont
29th - 30th April 2000
As arranged at the 1998 Reunion at the Barossa Valley, the Year 2000 - 7th Reunion of the RAAF NATIONAL SERVICEMEN will be held in the Geelong area on the weekend of the 29th April 2000.
The original suggestion was Queenscliffe, but after enquiries this was considered to be too expensive so the venue Quality Inn Parkside Motel, Belmont was chosen.
Saturday 29th April:
A tour of Treecorp Nursery, Colac was arranged and we had a most informative guide on this occasion. Norm McGeary gave a very lucid explanation of the workings of this tree nursery.
We now, all hold a different view of tree plantations as we travel around the countryside.

I am one of the stolen generation
I was forced from my loving home early one morning and taken far away and placed among strangers
I had to sleep in a strange bed
I had to adhere to a strict routine
I was roughly treated, verbally abused and if I showed any signs of protest I was given menial dirty tasks to do
I was forced to walk long distances with minimal rests
I was fed food not at all like my traditional meals at home and definitely no special delicacies
These are but a few of the discomforts I had to put up with
BUT
I am Proud
