Reunion No.3 -Melbourne
6th - 8th March 1993
Following the successful Adelaide reunion, thanks were expressed by Brian Mewett for the attendance of those present. It was decided there, that the next reunion would be held in Melbourne and that Terry Farrell would head a committee to organise for 1993.
As the closing of Tottenham was scheduled for 1992 a suggestion was made to hold the Melbourne reunion in March of that year. However, insufficient members would have been available to make it a success so March 6 - 8 1993 was accepted as the most appropriate.
It was in April 1992 that members were advised of the passing of John Lever, who was instrumental in helping organise the event in Mildura.
As well, Terry Farrell was not well and entered hospital for the first of two operations. In July 1992 Col Mackenzie and Jean headed off overseas to visit England, Scotland and Ireland as well as a tour of Europe.
Our venue for the Melbourne reunion was the Hub Motor Inn, Nepean Highway, Mentone.

Reunion No.3 - Melbourne
6th - 8th March 1993
As you will remember, due to the tenacity of Noel Meyer, approval was obtain for us to visit Tottenham 1SD on Sunday 7th March. This will also be remembered as our 40 Year Reunion.
Saturday 6th March - Registration, pre-dinner drinks and dinner at 7pm.
Sunday 7th March - Our memorable visit to No.1 Stores Depot, Tottenham where many memories were rekindled. Lunch was served in the Sergeant's Mess.
Advice was received that on May 26 there would be a parade through the streets of Sunshine when "Freedom of the City" would be granted to No.1SD. And that on Friday 28th May, there would be an official "Closing Down" parade at the Base.
As far as I am aware, Keith Thompson and Kevin Bunce were in attendance. Photos and a video were taken of both events.
At the conclusion of our reunion it was agreed that Reunion No.4 would be held in Tasmania, Des Hinds being the organiser for this event.
